Fukushima Daiichi, Areva’s Pesimistic Scenario is Disclosed by FOIA to USNRC

USNRC revealed the Aleva, French nuclear giant’s very pessimistic simulation, made just after Fukushimak crisis. USNRC’s discloser is done this November, in response to FOIA request our editor Takanori Eto has submitted.

In this prediction, Aleva anticipated all the fuel rod only in spent fuel pool of the site in a few weeks after incident ( they reach as many as 10000, accroing to the report Japanese authority had submitted to IAEA ).

However, Aleva seemed to send UsGov’t this documents very recently, to say, in this January.

Also, in the same response to Freedom of Information Act we can see how precisely USNRC had expected the consequence of injecting water and decay of structure in side vessels by see water salts.

Futhermore, USNRC gathered referable information with full effot they can. The oyster creek BWR which had similar design to Fukushima Daiichi and Fukushima Daiich’s internal strucuter in Japanese are shown in successive pages. (It was written in Japanese so that US body must needed tremendous effort to see.)

It is also interesting to note that Aleva expected Tepco’s attitude, reluctant to share give few information to them.

In conclusion those revelation made it very clear that, we should re-consider not only the risks of nuclear disaster, but also ask why it took so long a time to obtain a proper access to those critical reports.
