JAPAN FILM INDUSTRIE’S HIDDEN ONGOING CENSORSHIP

Freedom of expression is guaranteed, censorship is according to the constitution, strictly forbidden in Japan like other modern free countries. However, some censorship is , in reality, covertly ongoing in many fields. They strongly have chilling effects.


One example is, movie directors. Most of them are wittingly or not wittingly, internalized this code the creativities are spoiled. As we instance, can see movie, mentioning the ‘cult’ Oumu Shinrikyo is taboo. And also, most publishers are reluctant to release books on this issue said the business representative when I had asked.
